Design propositrou of a high-rise building by engineered wood in Qingdao
Now more and more skyscrapers are appearing again, but most of the skyscrapers are regular square boxes.The function of the building has also changed from a single office building to a current building complex.
In the beginning, I tested different architectural forms through different functional planes.However, it is now difficult for wood structures to realize these copied forms. So I restricted the form of the building to a wooden frame.The changes in the interior of the wooden frame make the architectural form more interesting.And let the building and surrounding environment combine with each other, reduce the sense of distance brought by high-rise buildings.
The general frame system has a support every certain distance, and the space is limited. So to make the space more flexible, like Ban Mao’s Tamedia building, I put the load-bearing structure on both sides, and I can get some large-span free space in the middle.
The charm of the wooden structure is the connected buttons. The design of the wooden structure unit forms the main load-bearing structure through the combination of 4 relatively small structures.Then the slab is erected above the beam. The connection points are connected by smaller wooden structural units. In theory, it can be infinitely superimposed. But the strength of horizontal loads is still the key to skyscraper design.
